SELLING OF VOTES

February 6, 2019

You sell your voice for coins,
Even my girlfriend won’t take that from me.
Just like Esau who sold his birthright for food,
You’ve sold your future to some fools.

Do not complain when situations get tougher.
You no longer have a say on this matter. You betrayed your conscience and right
When you took that money without thinking twice.

They manipulate you with their manifestos,
Deceived you with fancy words,
Yet no manifestation of promised made.
They tell you that you are the leaders of tomorrow,
And they never allow your tomorrow to arrive.

This is a Clarion call to my kind.
Stand your ground and do not be intimidated.
Indeed the temptation is high,
But this is the sacrifice we must make for a better tomorrow.

Do not take their change.
Do not listen to their lies.
Change is constant and it takes time.
However, we must be the change we want to see.

Before you sell your vote, think of the consequences.
Before you take that money, think of the next four years.
Before you make that decision, think of your future.
Before you bend the knee, think of the results.
Then ask yourself, “Is it worth it?”
